Developing Learners
THE LEARNER DEVELOPMENTAL FRAMEWORK
The aim of John Monash Science School is to fully develop the talents and capacities of all students to help them strive for personal best. We believe in providing students with an environment that promotes independence and responsibility. The school encourages personal growth and enrichment in a learning environment that is inspiring, safe and supportive.
Our school encourages enrichment and personal growth in a learning community that is safe and supportive.
We have a pastoral care structure which ensures that every student has the opportunity to develop, learn in a school environment which is nurturing and caring as they grow towards adulthood.
Whether it is in the classroom, sports fields, co-curricular or extra-curricular programs, we encourage and cultivate in our students to have the love of learning, creativity, optimism, strength of character and resilience.
Our Wellbeing Team actively promotes a positive outlook where our students will have maximum engagement to their learning and have positive emotions to build relationships.
We have created a Learner Developmental Framework that is based on UNESCO’s Four Pillars of Education. The 4 pillars are:
- Learning to live together
- Learning to know
- Learning to do
- Learning to be
JMSS Learner’s Developmental Framework aims to develop core skills, values and attributes in all our learners to prepare all members of our community for a life of learning, contribution and challenge.
